Harmony Physio

SERVICES

At Harmony Physiotherapy Wolverhampton, we offer a wide range of treatment techniques however all treatment regimes are tailored to your needs. Physiotherapy treatment can include one or a combination of the following:

JOINT AND SPINAL MOBILISATION AND MANIPULATION

joint

Mobilisations or manipulations are carried out by a therapist using their hands or a device to apply a controlled force to a joint moving it beyond its passive range of motion. The goal of the treatment is to relieve pain and improve hands on techniques where a low load (gentle pressure) is specifically applied to help elongate fascia and release tension.

SOFT TISSUE MASSAGE AND FASCIAL RELEASE TECHNIQUES

facial

These massages are used to alleviate pain by focusing on treatment of specific muscles that are causing symptoms. Soft tissue massage uses slower, deeper strokes with a more intense pressure as compared to Swedish massage. Fascial release techniques are hands on techniques where a low load (gentle pressure) is specifically applied to help elongate fascia and release tension.

PILATES/YOGA

yoga

These two exercise forms can be a great way to help improve abdominal and back strength, balance,co-ordination, flexibility and posture. At the heart of these methods is the aim to encourage you to take control of your body once more in order to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. Fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes.

Western medical acupuncture is the use of acupuncture following a medical diagnosis. It involves stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles of the body.

This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins. It’s likely that these naturally released substances are responsible for the beneficial effects experienced with acupuncture

Manisha readily diagnosed my upper arm/shoulder injury and used models to show where the damage was and the cause of my pain. Manisha showed me some stretching exercises to do as homework and explained that I would feel as though I’d been punched in the arm for 24hrs after the acupuncture - good to know, as I might’ve thought the treatment had made it worse otherwise. A day or so later and I noticed my arm was clicking less and the dull ache was a bit better. I’ve had two sessions so far, and anticipate perhaps two more. Manisha is a considerate and empathetic consultant - today’s session was challenging for me and she was kind, very observant, and did what she could to ease my discomfort. She’s a lovely person with a good heart. Appointments are kept to time and availability is good. The cost is very reasonable and the studio clean and inviting.
